We envision a world in which racist and classist systemic barriers such as cash bail are no more and liberation for all oppressed peoples is realized.
At Tuscaloosa Bail Out, we stand for the liberation of all people and wish to treat everyone as worthy of liberation despite racist and classist classification systems. We will actively strive to center those most marginalized and let their knowledge guide us. We will value new information and constantly reflect and reevaluate our methods to ensure we are providing the best resources to advocate and assist those most marginalized. We will hold ourselves accountable to those we serve and ensure transparency in our actions. We will hold ourselves accountable to those who donate and provide transparency on how their donations will be used. We will conduct our actions in line with the larger goal of prison abolition and the dismantling of unjust systems.
Tuscaloosa Bail Out’s leadership is an all-volunteer board comprised of local community members and lawyers who share the vision of liberating our neighbors. TBO also relies on the assistance of many generous volunteers to accomplish its mission. TBO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
